Sitges is one of the most complete destinations on the Catalan coast: town beaches and coves, a beautifully preserved old town, museums, great food and a festival calendar that draws visitors all year. And it is less than an hour from Barcelona.
For families and groups, renting a villa in Sitges has clear advantages over a hotel or several apartments:
Sitges and its surroundings offer very different settings. The choice depends on whether you want to walk to the beach or prioritise space and quiet.
Perfect for walking everywhere, but with very few houses that have a garden and pool. Apartments and townhouses dominate, and it gets noisier in high season and during festivals.
A residential area west of the centre, close to the promenade and the golf course, with detached houses and gardens a short distance from the beach.
Residential areas on the hills around Sitges, with larger villas, more calm and often views. You will need a car to get into town.
Estates to the east, towards Garraf Natural Park, with hillside houses and sea views. A good base for nature walks.
The neighbouring municipality keeps traditional masias surrounded by vineyards, with large plots and plenty of privacy, a few minutes' drive from the Sitges beaches. It is the most interesting option for large groups and celebrations.
An example: Masia Pairal is a farmhouse with a stone tower, large pool and garden chill-out in Sant Pere de Ribes, five minutes from central Sitges.
July and August are high season: peak beach atmosphere, higher prices and less availability. Book several months ahead.
May, June and September bring good weather, pleasant sea temperatures (especially in September) and more choice of houses.
October to April is ideal for quiet breaks, retreats or celebrations, with mild days and a villa you also enjoy indoors.
Watch out for the busiest dates: Carnival (February or March), Easter, the Festa Major in late August and the Fantastic Film Festival in October.
A villa works best when the group gets organised early: agree on bedrooms before arriving, plan how many cars you need and do a big shop on the first day. If you are celebrating something, check in advance what is allowed and whether the house can recommend suppliers.

For groups, villas with garden and pool in the residential and rural areas, such as Sant Pere de Ribes, offer more space and privacy than the centre, and are a few minutes by car from the beaches.
In most cases, yes. Larger villas are usually outside the town centre, and a car makes it easy to reach the beach, shop and visit Garraf or Penedès.
